Challenging Ramadhan..

It is the day my dear Mikhail turns 9, a glorious day for him, all psyched and excited.


It is also the day we found out that I had a miscarriage.


With all the things that's been going on, the news of my pregnancy gave me a new mission in life, for at least abt 9 weeks..


I thot I would have a FULL puasa this year, yay! But come 27 July, i began to have light spotting. On 29 July, it was clots. I knew something was not right..


Docs first few sentence that broke my heart, "baby tak jadi la dear.." it has not grown from week 6. There cud be some abnormalities that made the fetus didnt grow.


31 July 2012


Went in to KJMC for D+C. It was fast and just fast. I was put in GA. Tido and pengsan sampai tak ingat. My biggest worry was how mikayla will be coping on her own with her dad and grandparents. Alhamdullillah, all went well. Mikayla well behaved. Did not put anyone to major stress. Fetus is gone. :(

Tabasco Pepper Sauce

Ever since school days, I've always had pizza with tabasco. One fine day sum time last year, tabasco was not served in Pizza Hut anymore, staff reasoning, ada customer sakit perut.. (ah ?&$%) apparently it is TIDAK HALAL. As it has DNA ba-alip-bi.


Why is it not sold under "non-halal" when it is JAKIM certified as tidak halal?


Disappointed.

Yes, image above is taken at home because husband bought it at cold storage. The question is, how many people would google e.g. "HP Barbecue sauce tidak halal?" to just find out tabasco pepper sauce is tidal halal. How about Lea & Perrin sauce? it is from the same HP company? *fenin fenin*

It has been 75 minutes..

Usually my fridays goes by really fast. Sent kiddo to school, be home by 7.50am.. Put little Ms Brown to sleep. Sumtimes i take a nap too till 10.20am or so.. Then off at 11.40am to pick up kiddo from school.


However today, lil Ms Brown refused to go back home. We have been at the playground for more than an hour and counting..

Today tok mum gave Mikayla a set of MMC stickers. We thot, bole la bawak balik rumah and stick stick.. Tak sempat dehh..

I took Mikayla for her 30 months check up a couple days ago. Told her paed that I am still breastfeeding. He suggested that I stop breastfeeding (due to some other reason, not that he's against breastfeeding or whatnot). I asked any suggestion how? He answered, just don't give in. Dia nangis ke ngamuk ke, biar je..


Alahaiii doctor oiii.. If it is that simple, dah buat dah.. I must say I cant stand her tantrums and cries and I wud normally give in. I guess I am the one who has to handle her day in day out.. Who else knows better kan?


I also have some advice coming from a non-parent "kau train la anak kau duduk carseat!" wahduh wahduh.. Sedapnye mulut.. Anyways, my reply to her was "a ah kan, nape aku tak train ek? Pandai la kau ni!" (dalam hati, alhamdullillah.. Ya Allah !!)

Ever since fasting month, my little cikkiah has been a Miss Brown. Roaming around the house with her "big gold necklace" and pushing her baby minnie.. Sigh..

Ikebukuro to Maihama 23-30 June 2012

25/05/2012 - Left the hotel at 7.40am. Headed for Hachumasen station. Today is our long awaited mt. Fuji tour.

We got to the 5th station at 3774m to get a good view of the fuji-san. The weather was not on our side. View was ok but cub be better.


From thr, we were dropped off Ryukyu Highlands for lunch. Headed of to Owakadani for a cable car ride. After Hakone, we took the boat across Lake Ashi.


By evening, we headed off to Odawara station to take the Shinkansen aka bullet train. Ride was merely pleasant bcoz it was rush hour and we were seated separately. Being Japanese, very prihatin abt their surrounding, two ladies gave up their seats so that we could sit together.


Our ride stopped at Shinagawa station. O boy, was i wrong abt the earlier ride. Situation was much much worst at the train station let alone in the train! We had to take another train to our hotel, Ikebukuro station. I think sardine wun even have survived that cramped car! However, being in a country that's highly considerate, all four of us were seated after 3 minutes of standing and cramping. Me carrying a child, a tired boy and two senior citizen got seats given up by amazing japanese!!


That's it for today. It is a history in the making for me. From a bus ride, cable car, boat cruise and a bullet train - superb mode of transport in one long day, awesome!

Finer things in life.. Family.

It has been a while that the family has gathered for an overseas trip. Many many years ago, in my teens, during on of our family trips, my parents has once told us, "Why Abah bought the gold membership?" it is purely because that someday our family will have 6 adults instead of just the 4 pf us which mean "menantu(s) included". I thot.. Oh wow, that would be nice. Husband gets the privilege to go on trips too.

What is this "gold membership"? It is the getaway vacations club, timesharing thingy that those tele-marketer use to call you up and ask you to sign up. Yes, the fon calls were annoying but if you love and plan to travel. This would in fact save you a lot on your accommodation.

There are few that i know namely berjaya vacations club (bvc), mines (not sure of its exact club name), legend worldwide etc. My parents joined Legend Worldwide since he was attached to legend hotel at that time (around year 1999). At that time Gold membership costs abt RM14k. You get 7 days a year and bedding for 6 adults.

Some bookings are required a year in advance. Some may  just only need two week prior.

Alrity, this entry has to end here as we are about to touchdown. Airasia flight to Haneda tonite was excellent. I refuse to brag about the puduraya situation, the rowdiness of the in-flight passengers etc. all i know, alhamdullillah, my two-year old sat quietly for 7 straight hours! did not come off her seat AT ALL!  i am blessed.

Self-ish..

Still challenging myself to blog daily, apa kan daya, sometimes, am just not in the mood.

Today is Friday 18th May, 2012. Kiddo has completed mid-term exams. Hence, no drill-hour, no homework etc.. I thot I just wanted to do nothing. Baring depan tv and practically do nothing.. was about to indulge in doing nothing, terpikir nak watsepp2 sekejap. Mem2 semua sebok dgn anak pinak.. so, back to doing nothing.. coming into the 11th minute of doing nothing.. I hear foot-steps that comes with "mummy, can we have pancakes", suara si abang. "i'm hungry". The later phrase, i heard it 3x times today. 

First at 3.30pm, fed him chicken rice, two hours later, had another bowl of rice. When we were done with dinner at 8.30pm, third request. Hence, mummy took the kids jalan2 citta mall. Saja cari nahas kan?! Since the little one is asleep, less pau-ing, so i thot..

Jalan2 part, she was sound asleep. The moment we entered presto, mata sudah bukak. O oh, pau time. First thing she saw was an ice cream cone box, and wanted jus that! Mummy happy. Si abang pulak saw a milk promo stand. He kept on taking d mini cups, almaklum la, kawan lapar! I think he wallupped 8 mini cups. Mummy's face cannot hide dah. Malu and serba salah, took one bottle. I know its good for him. Fresh milk kan.. However, duth lady fresh milk does the same too. This milk comes jersey cows kot, mahal nye tak terhingga. The bottle snapped costs abt RM9.35. Kena pau jugak lah. Jalan2 punya jalan, mummy pon felt like pau-ing something. "nestles' butterscotch chips"..

I think i shud change my entry title now.

RM 9.35, it is worth it when it is used to its very last drop.

And so the pancakes requested had the ingredient of jersey fresh milk. hopefully sedap! this is my lempeng keju. Or kiddo would call it, creamy cheesy  pancake with melted butter. 

While mummy was busy watsepping and making pancakes in the kitchen. little cikkiah was playing doll. i just had to snap Mr. Beh sleeping, on the floor.


Back to original entry title, i can not just have a do-nothing evening... or a self-ish moment... or some of us call it me-time.. although i want to, i just can't. i love the look on the kids face when they are slobbered with butter. penat pon hilang.. 


no matter how down or devastated i feel, how bad a day i have, how much i need to be alone thingy.... 


i am however glad i have... i feel that some close people to me are just drifting apart.. getting far far away.. however, some just got closer and closer..

37 years later..

Such a delayed post but who cares. ;) it was a thursday so nothing fancy however it was filled and surrounded with warmth and affection. Alanis decided to spend the whole day with us. eating spree began from breakfast at "3rd world" - nasi goreng sedap (gambar tak sempat sebab dah lapar sangat). Lunch we had pecal lele.. oooo.. writing this at this hour (2am) is not good, making me tummy growl. then tea-time, bought cuppies from wondermilk (cuppies yg super keras) for the kids so they could settle down while we have coffee at Chawan. Dinner pulak, my parents ajak to go for a simple dinner at Pappa Rich. ok the picture of Bubba Gump tu, coming soon, which is next to Pappa Rich. below bukak, dun get too excited!

This cost us RM5. it's a petite cake size. However, i think it is left overs from the party packs yg depa bust and tak laku, hence keras ok~!!

Indeed it was an eating spree. the next night, YF took us to Chilis. As usual, i had bahu kamben yg maveles! Makan makan dan makan lagi..

So, mummy download aje game for you. The only download they have is in Russian.  I know that you can't understand Russian, hence, you can't save any games. Nanti lah, ada rezeki, mummy go buy that RM5 game keh!

Mummy is sorry because I had to bathe you at 2:41am. That is because you have not bathed the whole day, including the day before. I am not sure why lately you have been so reluctant to mandi and change. However, mummy will try my best to pujuk you mandi. Plus, we have Mak Alanis coming over later.. so must mandi! So, best mandi pepagi buta?? now you are sound asleep sebab dah sedap kena warm bath and vicks di dada. Mummy is supposed to sleep when you are asleep, but mummy just can't.

M.. M.. M.. see the pattern? Mway.. heheh ye saya ahli MLM Amway. There are a lot of goodness in Amway that I can't even begin to say it out. Many first impression and expression (including mine).. ahh mahal lah amway!  after being convinced by YF, yes, it is more of value for money.

Every month I receive Amway booklet, it's called AMAGRAM. every time dapat, it will be in the plastic bag for a bit. then baru la bukak nak baca. same thing for May amagram. first opened on 5th May. first thing i saw was the CERAMIC KNIVES! I am not sure where this obsession of ceramic knife came from, but have been wanting it for a while..

Little playland...

Wow, it as been a while, i mean a week since i last pop by. what have i been up to? i guess nothing really interesting. except! except for the back n forth trip to KL. i can't believe how far it felt to travel to KL. and come to think of it, i traveled back and forth, daily, for years!! tak komplen pon dulu!! last rabu, decided to do visa for our month end trip. so, my abah said he would drive but i have to go do the embassy thingy. rabu, passport sent. got the receipt (silap tak ambik gambor), it says ready by 4th May. itu aje yang saya nampak. 4th May. so, my mother pon tak baca receipt bebetul, terus plan on friday morning, early morning, redah jam-time morning, must to KL. sesampai kat embassy, masuk ambik number, duduk. tetiba tak senang duduk. went to read some pasted notices on the wall. terbeliak mata  jap.. looking at the sentence "pick up time - 14:00-1600" !! arghh.. waited for my number to be called and memang say visa tak siap lagi...

i know my dad will not be driving up to KL anytime soon so, i offered. let's go after picking up abang today. and so, the 3 generation left subang at 1pm and redah kuala lumpur again.. got our visa and head back. alhamdullillah, through out the driving process cik kiah behaved well and slept all the way back, siap bole singgah baking supply shop on the way home...

Well, that's pretty much til friday..

weekend was a different ball of game.. well-spent with hubby's friends. They have a 9 month old baby, Baby Z. we were all at ikea on sunday.. jalan2 sampai kids section. usually cik kiah will not be bothered to take home anything. but this time around (tukar phase ke nih?), she got glued to a tunnel, a rocker and a ladybug. due to hubby's generous mood, di angkut nye semua barang2, cuma can't find the ladybug aje.. hence.. see below.

I now know what Bini John was trying to tell me before. Kalau takde mood nak tulis, mmg hampeh. bila ada mood, sampai 5 entry in one night la pulak.. I don't care. I started blogging because I now have less people that I can talk or chat or whatsapp to these days. I might as well pen it down. Loosing your chat buddies memang a sad case, but better not loose your mind!

So since masih mentah dalam dunia blogging ni, I have all the time in the world to look at my previous blogs. so, in the last few entries, I realize the cookies did not look the same as the batch I made tonite. HENCE, that deserve an entry! 

Tonite we named it "blek n wyte choc chip cookie". I was telling Alanis, that ada femes emes smell but taste to tak la sangat. what it needed was another minute in the oven. Everytime masuk Presto, memang singgah tengok baking area, bukan nye banyak sangat barang pon.. but tonite, my eyes and hands were caught at Nestles Butterscotch semi-sweet chips. At the same time, nak white chocolate jugak.. don't know what happened, i grabbed two packets. Only come to realize at home that i grabbed one hersheys choc and nestles' white choc chip.. NO butterscotch! na-ah, me not going back to presto for no butterscotch! next time buddy!

The day was 28th April 2012 . I'd like to only think that it was Abah's birthday. 

I refused to look up or Google or even follow up on BERSIH that day. Today, i manage to look see some blogs via a friends shared link.

one word -  sad.

i just felt that i was watching an incident in Syria, or even Mexico.. ok fine closer, Bangkok! that could not have been my country. i come from peaceful Malaysia. 

Kerana setitik nila, rosak my susu sebelanga..

My baby is fully dressed.

Ok, sorry not this baby. This gurl these days memang susah nak bagi pakai baju. So today, i let her go free. Mummy dok baking punya pasal, Abang took out my stationary treasure box. Alamat nye ini budak sudah jumpa marker pen. Self-painted herself and a few marks on Abang too. And that is her tummy, not supper-imposed tummy hahahaa....

 

 I meant this baby is fully dressed now. Thanx to YF, it now dressed up in orange crystal case. Keyboard covered with Ultra Thin Keyboard Protector TPU, yang orange that comes with the case does not fit beautifully, this does! :) Anti-glare, Anti-finger print Screen protector fixed. And last but not least, trackpad protector which is super smooth. 

Bini John sila take note. :) Trackpad protector ni harus dan akan menjadi wajib apabila ada anak2 yg suka korek hidung then terus nak pegang trackpad.

oh ya, jangan lupa screen and surface cleaner by AVAREX. good to have when you have one or more gadgets with you plus kids with sticky hands!

A very very hot day!

It has been forever nak pi pekena tutti frutti belakang rumah ni ha.. One fine sunny day, yes, we got there.

Coincidentally, the shop houses kat sini is nearby tumble tots and happy nest. Will blog abt the mentioned two later later.

Ini lah muka Abang yang mula2 tak nak ice-skrim, bila masuk dalam kedai, nak pulak!

Tutti Fruitti ni cerita nye amik pakai timbang. So, kalau berhati-hati.. tak de la harge melonjak gegila. Alanis told me, kalau takde 20 hengget for an ice-skrim, jgn masuk! hence, terbantut lah lawatan kami ke tutti frutti ni.. 

What we had was, vanilla froyo with milo yg bulat2 tu ape nama ntah and oreo crushed = RM8 for Mikh. And for Mummy and Adik, coffee and choc with almond, and lots of kacang in it.. takde nye nak amik any fruits.. hahaha.. and that was abt RM7. i think it is value for money because quality is there. Kalau haagen daaz tu pon dah 10hengget lagi sikit (smaller in size) than what abang took. The amount we took was just nice, takde la nak membazir tak habis. Bekas je besar sbb they want us to fill it up.. guna kan akal minda anda, tak payah la nak penuh kan tub tu just because tub is big! 

While the short time we were there, Abang's classmate came in. i like what he did. I believe his mum gave him RM8 to spend. he squeezed some froyo and timbang.. then add more.. timbang balik.. bole masuk lagi.. amik sikit lagi, finally.. RM7.10. he paid and left. SMART !! Jangan belanja ape yg tak patut! hahah note to self tu..

Busy day in the kitchen..

Alrity now.. Have not been playing FB games nor have i been out shopping. There was this one day, i just felt like doing so many things..

Last Friday, ikut selera tekak the kids, they asked for choc milk shake again.. This is the third request. 1st was plain shake, 2nd with sprinkled milo and 3rd i have decided to put a dash of oreo plus milo sprinkles in it! Jadi lah choc-oreo shake!

Later in the evening, hajat hati nak jumpa bini man on saturday, so baked some choc-chip no nut cookies, siap! Below gambar with almond.

Then while cleaning up the kitchen. Ah! Abah's birthday is tomorrow. Saw some bananas. Whoopped up some banana moist cake. Also baked an extra tiny batch for bini man.. Really hope bole jumpa...

I think this entry is pretty bland. Macam bosan je nulis.. However, i am in such a happy mood! Hanya Tuhan maha mengetahui.

Never jump to conclusion..

On April 15, 2012, we were unable to get our eksesorry from HausofBiB in Bangsar due to some ignorant Malaysian. We came back home, told Bini John about it, she mentioned.. cari je dalam ebay, sure ada.. i looked but none (takde kaler yg bekenan) from ebay malaysia. then went to ebay international. So found one, immediately bid on it! Bid for USD10 ! Delivery USD10 as well. Bidding lasts for 40 minutes. No one else bid on it so i got it at USD8.95. Total USD18.95 (RM58.06). Happy because dapat way much cheaper than HausofBod which was RM160!

Today went to pick up at Post Office because tak dengar abang poslaju datang semalam, or maybe i was out when he came by. Dalam keta dah bukak packaging, to my disappointment, nampak macam macbook air (MBA) punya design. Heart was racing, marah ada, restless ada.. Quickly send feedback to sender if they are sure they sent MBP case instead of MBA.  Belom ape ape dah text YF telling about my "discovery".

Came home, again, looked at it. Took a snap shot (below) to sent to YF, "look, MBA punya nih, how??" YF tengah training ni, kacau je lah...

Takut nak bukak plastic sebab nanti nak kena return (sayang pon ade gak) Belek punya belek bendalah ni, bukak je lah.. Tup tup.. alamak bole la.. terbalik kan sana sini, krik krak sini sana.. hah! ta-daaa... hahaha gelak sengsorang lah nama nye.. laughing at me silliness. kelam kabut tak tentu arah, lompat to conclusion too soon. 

Moral of the story, jangan lompat too soon!

Hari Ini Dalam Sejarah

Today is the day that I made full use of the kitchen. As in, the stove, oven, microwave etc, all in use. Yes, very rare. Since last week, have been craving for some curry. Fish curry ka, chicken curry ka, tak kisah lah..

Hence, went to buy barang basah sikit to try out fish curry. In my college years, i have always loved to cook curry.. fish and chicken. bole pejam mata.. well, that was 12 plus years ago.. sekarang kalau tutup mata, terpeleot lah nama nye!

Bought red snapper to make it worth while. 

Bini Kas decided to pop by, langkah kanan lah kawan.

Fish curry, after a decade..

Night comes, someone has emailed me a so-called bak kata Bini Man "Femes Emes" cookie recipe. Let's give it a shot. I have so far not succeeded in baking crunchy cookies. Be it butter cookie, chocolate chip cookie, ape ape cookie lah.. sure ada some weird taste and definitely chewy. So, this the halved-recipe given, i halved it even more. As I won't want to waste the batter if its another batch of chewy cookies.

Wa-lah.. a very small batch of crunchy non-chewy cookie. Yahoo! Even the hersheys chips melts like "femes emes" cookie.
